General Film Distributors

General Film Distributors (GFD), is a British film distribution company based in London that was originally formed in 1936 by J Arther Rank of the Rank organization. The company has distributed over 400 mainstream films

General Film Distributors Limited specializes in investing in the acquisition and sales and distribution of motion picture films. The Company acquires the rights to carefully selected feature films in a variety of genres with compelling stories from established Producers and Studios. GFD then distribute and sell these films and profit from the gross film & DVD film sales revenues.

The GFD business model includes the acquisition of not only DVD sales rights, but other areas such as Video-On-Demand, DVD rental, mobile phones, pay TV and Internet downloads. The GFD model is built upon the conviction that a diversified portfolio of carefully chosen feature films and existing libraries achieve better returns for the company than is normally realized from mainstream investment. This approach generates highly profitable multiple revenue streams for the company that are totally uncorrelated to traditional investment markets and indices
