"The Greatest Show Unearthed" is the 2006 debut album by alternative rock band Creature Feature.

Due to extensive advertising on MySpace and good reviews in horror magazines such as "Rue Morgue", "Unearthed" was hugely successful; the band sold out of copies within a matter of months. In 2007, Creature Feature was picked up by Sumerian Records, thus getting the album a wide release in major retail stores and a full remixing and remastering. The rerelease arrives in stores October 30, 2007.

ong Inspirations

Most of the tracks on "The Greatest Show Unearthed" are more or less inspired by specific horror films.

*"Aim for the Head" is a tribute to zombie themed films.
*"Buried Alive" is a tribute to the works of Edgar Allan Poe. The song contains over 20 references to Poe's work and life, at approximately one per line. Works named include "A Dream Within a Dream", "The City in the Sea," "The Valley of Unrest," "The Masque of the Red Death", "Loss of Breath," "The Premature Burial," "The Oblong Box," "The Oval Portrait", "The Fall of the House of Usher", and others.
*"A Gorey Demise" is a homage to the Edward Gorey book "The Gashlycrumb Tinies".
*"Look to the Skies" is based on "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".
*"How to Serve Man", named after the infamous Twilight Zone episode, is based on the Gris Grimly film "Cannibal Flesh Riot" for which it was written.
*Twelve characters were created for the album and voiced by Curtis Rx.

Rerelease Specifics

For the 2007 re-release of the album, several aspects were added:

* All 10 tracks were re-mixed and remastered
* An 11th track, "How to Serve Man", was added.
* All new cover by Gris Grimly.
* A six-page booklet including new artwork.
