Amasio Valence is a Fijian born Rugby sevens player. Despite being born in Nadi, in Fiji, he switched allegiances to New Zealand after he first made his break into professional rugby in 2000. He was hailed as one of the most promising players in the discipline in recent years.

Career

His chosen sport was completely different from the rest of his family members. While Valence played rugby, his entire family enjoyed soccer, with his younger brother being picked for the national side of Fiji in 2002. Valence was also on the national sevens team which brought home the gold in the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
