Atatürk Cup

Atatürk Cup

The Atatürk Cup is a defunct football competition in Turkey. In 1955, the Turkish Football Federation named a football tournament after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Four clubs took place in the first edition: Beşiktaş J.K., Fenerbahçe S.K., Galatasaray S.K., Adalet and Vefa S.K. Adalet won the first edition, with Fenerbahçe coming in second. The second edition was played in 1963, with Fenerbahçe winning the first of two cups. The third edition was played in 1998 to memorialize the 60th anniversery of Atatürk's death. Fenerbahçe beat Beşiktaş 2-0 in the third edition. In the fourth and last edition of the tournament, Beşiktaş defeated Galatasaray 2-1 in 2000.
