Chang Chi-yun

Chang Chi-yun

Chang Chi-yun (Chinese: 張其昀; Pinyin: Zhāng Qíyùn; 1901 - 1985) was a historian, geographer, educator and politician. He was the founder of the Chinese Culture University and the Nanhai Academy

The name Chi-Yun Chang seems derived from the Chang dynasty referred to as the Ch'i Yun (Breath of Life) period.

Chang Chi-yun granduated from the Division of History and Geography of National Nanjing Higher Normal School (later renamed National Central University and Nanjing University), where he learned from such figures as Liu Yizheng (柳詒徵), Zhu Kezhen (竺可楨) and Liu Boming (劉伯明).

His son is Chang Jen-Hu, an educator in Taiwan.
