London Buses route 295 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to First London.

History

This route began in 1967, for a new link between Westway and Hammersmith (Monday to Friday). It was operated from London Transport's Shepherd's Bush garage, using Routemasters. In 1985 the route was converted to driver only operation using MCW Metrobuses. Then in late 1992 the contract was handed over to Streetline and it used Dennis Darts/Plaxton Pointers and Wright bodied darts.

In 1996 London General took over the 295 and in 1998 it regained its reliable fleet of MCW Metrobuses also with Northern Counties Palatine bodied Olympians from routes 49 and 74. Ironically just 2 years later in 2000 London General lost its contract to First and the route was converted to single deck operation using dual door Marshalls. However Dennis Tridents did operate and even occasional Metrobuses from First Centrewest also operated as the single deckers were overcrowding. Eventually in February 2003 the Marshalls were replaced by Plaxton bodied Tridents and Alexander ALX400s which were then supplemented by Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs in 2004.

In late 2005 the contract was renewed once again to First X.
