ESports Award

The eSports Award [ [http://www.esports-award.org/ site of the Award] ] is an annual award ceremony held since 2004 by Turtle Entertainment in which individuals, teams and organisations are recognized in several categories for their contribution or achievements to or in the field of competitive gaming.

The event is traditionally held at a major gaming event in Germany. The winner of each category is determined by either a panel of experts or an online popularity vote. This year's nominees are expected to be announced mid-July.

* Best Warcraft 3 Player (since 2004)
* Newcomer / Breakthrough of the Year (since 2004)
* Best eSports Coverage, international (since 2004)
* Journalist Award (since 2006)
* Scene Journalist Award (since 2007)
* eSports Game of the Year (since 2007)
* Lifetime Achievement Award (since 2007)
* eSports Photo of the Year (since 2008)
* Best Call of Duty 4 Player (since 2008)
* Consoles Player of the Year (since 2008)
* Consoles Team of the Year (since 2008)
* Best Halo 3 Player (since 2008)

Retired categories are:

* Best Counter-Strike Player, Female (2004)
* Best eSports Coverage, German (2004, 2005, 2006)
* Best Publisher (2004, 2005, 2006)
* eSport Player of the Year, Female (2005)
