Alternating hemiplegia

Alternating hemiplegia refers to a form of hemiplegia that has an ipsilateral presentation on one side of the body, and a contralateral presentation on the other side.

It occurs when there are proximal effects and distal effects, and the distal effects occur after a decussation.

More specifically, the term can refer to:
* Alternating hemiplegia of childhood
* Another name for medial medullary syndrome
