Description

Theatre Strike Force is the world's largest collegiate improvisation troupe. With over 120 members, no other student organization devoted to improvisation compares to the University of Florida's Theatre Strike Force. Theatre Strike Force is a student organization with the purpose of presenting improvisational theatre which focuses on social concerns. The group often performs in a street theatre context to reach an audience of those who would not ordinarily think of attending a theatre. History

Theatre Strike Force is a significant part of the University of Florida and more particularly the School of Theatre and Dance. Established in 1989 by Dr. Judith Williams, Theatre Strike Force has been teaching and practicing improvisation for over 18 years. Purpose

A social activist/improvisational group. The purpose is to educate and comment on issues that affect the community and the world.

Activities

Strike Force performs monthly at the Orange & Brew, as well as multiple residence halls on the [http://www.ufl.edu University of Florida] campus. Theatre Strike Force offers a formal course in improv at UF entitled TPP3124 - "Improvisation and Social/Political Issues" [ [http://eagle.ufl.edu/cgi-bin/eaglec?PAGE=RAI-CDESC&MDASKEYY=TPP3124 University of Florida Registrar] ] .
