Herschel Baronets

The Herschel Baronetcy, of Slough in the County of Buckinghamshire, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 17 July 1838 for John Frederick William Herschel, "Herschel, Sir John Frederick William 1792–1871 astronomer" (biography), NAHSTE project, University of Edinburgh, [http://www.nahste.ac.uk/isaar/GB_0237_NAHSTE_P0327.html NAHSTE-JHerschel] .] son of the famous astronomer Sir William Herschel, and a well-known astronomer in his own right. On the death of the third baronet, 15 June 1950, the baronetcy became extinct.
