Madame Jeanette

Madame Jeanette

Madame Jeanette ("Capsicum chinense") is a pepper originally from Suriname. Fairly small plant that dislikes cool growing sites. Will grow indoors. Fruits are shaped like small bell peppers but with Habanero like heat. Ripens to reddish-yellow but they are larger and not quite as misshapen, as Habaneros. When raw, the taste is of a hot burning, without any sweetness or fruitiness. May be related to the Surinam Red (as this pepper is also known as 'Surinam Yellow'). Very prolific.
