Donald C. Pogue

Donald C. Pogue is currently the Chief Judge of the United States Court of International Trade and serves as Chair of the Court's Long Range Planning Committee and Budget Committee. He was appointed to the USCIT in 1995 by President Bill Clinton.[1]

Judge Pogue is a magna cum laude Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Dartmouth College, with highest honors in government, and has done graduate work at the University of Essex, England. He holds a J.D. degree from the Yale Law School and a masters of philosophy from Yale University.

Before his appointment to the USCIT, Judge Pogue served as a Judge in Connecticut's Superior Court and presided in criminal court in New Haven, Connecticut. Prior to appointment to the Connecticut bench, he served as Chair of Connecticut's Commission on Hospitals and Health Care. Prior to joining the Commission, Judge Pogue practiced law in Hartford for fifteen years with the firm of Kestell, Pogue, & Gould.[2]

Judge Pogue has lectured on labor law at the University of Connecticut School of Law and assisted in teaching the Harvard Law School's program on negotiations and dispute resolution for lawyers. He also served as chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section.
