Taylor Woodrow Construction

Taylor Woodrow Construction Limited (TWC) is the general construction subsidiary of Taylor Wimpey plc. It is the only UK division of the Group still trading under the Taylor Woodrow brand name.

History

Over the years, Taylor Woodrow Construction has undertaken a number of landmark projects including airports, cathedrals, open - cast coal mining, football stadia, nuclear power stations, railway tunnels, roads, theme parks and wind farms. It has also built Tesco supermarkets since 1987.

Taylor Woodrow has also undertaken projects under the Private Finance Initiative including schools, and more recently, hospitals, until July 2007. It also provides facilities management and specialist engineering consultancy services.

Another notable development by Taylor Woodrow is the Riverside Stadium on Teesside, which was built in 1995 as the stadium of Middlesbrough Football Club [ [http://www.mfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Stadium/0,,1,00.html Boro Stadium History] ] . At the time it was the first new stadium for an English top division football club since Manchester City's Maine Road in 1923, and it proved so successful that over the next 11 years no less than six top division clubs have built new stadiums and a seventh club is in the early stages of following suit.
