Group of Soviet forces

Group of Soviet forces

Groups of Soviet forces were large peacetime administrative units of the Soviet Army, stationed in Warsaw Pact countries. The equivalent entities within the Soviet Union were Soviet military districts. In wartime, a group of forces would provide support to one or more fronts raised as field formations.

Soviet groups of forces:
* Central Group of Forces (Czechoslovakia)
* Group of Soviet Forces in Germany (Germany)
* Northern Group of Forces (Poland)
* Southern Group of Forces (Balkans)
