Leonard Nicholson

Leonard Hanson Nicholson (June 8 1904 - March 22, 1983) served as the tenth Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, from May 1, 1951 to March 31, 1959.

Leonard Hanson Nicholson graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario in 1923. He served as a Provost marshal in World War II.

Legacy

In 1955 he received an honorary LL.D. from the University of New Brunswick. In 1967 he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. He is a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
