nihongo|Tohru Ukawa|宇川 徹|Ukawa Tōru(born May 18, 1973) is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from Japan. He rode for the factory Repsol Honda Grand Prix team in 2001 and 2002, finishing 3rd overall behind team-mate Valentino Rossi in 2002, with a win at Phakisa in South Africa. He then came 7th overall for the Sito Pons Pramac team in 2003 before returning to a factory testing role [http://www.crash.net/news_View~cid~6~id~80437.htm] . Prior to this, he had a long 250cc career. He was runner-up to Rossi in the 1999 World Championship standings, and top five overall every other year from 1996 to 2000. He won five Grand Prix races during his career and is a five-time winner of the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race.
