Les Edwards

Les Edwards (born 1949) is a professional illustrator best known for his horror, science fiction and fantasy illustrations. In addition to work under his own name, he also uses the pseudonym Edward Miller for a different style of art.

Edwards trained at Hornsey College of Art between 1968 and 1972 and joined the Young Artists Agency in the early 1970s.John Clute & John Grant (1999) "The Encyclopedia of Fantasy" (paperback edition), London, Orbit p.311] He is now represented by his wife, Val Edwards.

His work has included major advertising campaigns, publishing, comics and film design, but he is best known for his genre illustrations. Edwards created the posters for the films "Nightbreed" and "The Thing". Part of one of Edwards's illustrations, originally created for "The Devils of D-Day" by Graham Masterton was used as cover art for Metallica's early single, "Jump in the Fire". He has won the British Fantasy Award for Best Artist seven times, [ British Fantasy Society list of former award winners.
