Anything and Whatever

Anything and Whatever

"Anything" and "Whatever" are the names of two soft drinks made and distributed in Singapore alongside each other, by the company Out Of The Box Pte Ltd..

Flavors

"Anything" is carbonated and is made in six flavors: Cola, Cola with Lemon, Apple, Fizz Up, Cloudy Lemon and Root Beer.

"Whatever" is non-carbonated and is made in six flavors as iced tea: Ice Lemon Tea, Peach Tea, Jasmine Green Tea, White Grape Tea, Apple Tea and Chrysanthemum Tea.

The drinks have a unique packaging concept such that every beverage has a generic design, with no way of telling what flavour is contained in the can. This prevents the consumers from being aware of the flavor of the purchased beverage until they drink it. (An observant drinker can, however, make an educated guess by looking at the ingredients specification on the side of the can.)

Advertising

The drinks are marketed by Out of the Box Pte Ltd, a previously golf-focused media company. Advertising is done at bus-stops and taxi-stands by the Singapore branch of Clear Channel [ [http://www.clearchannel.com.sg/content.asp?ID=3&ParentID=0&MicrositeID=0&Page=1 Clear Channel Singapore] , About Us. Retrieved on 2007-05-24] that designs and maintains these shelters.

Between the 10th and 21st of May, 2007, Anything & Whatever ran a 'teaser campaign' at 450 bus shelters in which empty Anything & Whatever cans were attached to the displays, framing the advertisements. The campaign, which was to have lasted a month, was cut short in the wake of widespread vandalism and concern that the many cans opened by passersby would become breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes, carriers of dengue fever.cite press release | url = http://anything.com.sg/news/ | title = Immediate Action to Withdraw “Anything” & “Whatever” Canned Drinks Visual Display at 450 Bus Stops | publisher = Out of the Box Pte Ltd] [cite news | url = http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/277832/1/.html | title = Drink ad at bus stops gets canned | publisher = Today | format = reprint| author = Daphne Chuah | date= 2007-05-23 | accessdate = 2007-09-25]
