About

GDMPL is an Indian movie production company started by legendary Indian producer, director and actor Guru Dutt. GDMPL saw some of its best works during the 50s and 60s, also sometimes referred to as the "Golden age of Indian Cinema". GDMPL and the Guru Dutt team gave some of the most memorable movies which have enjoyed cult following even to date.

Production and vision of the company slowed passed the untimely death of its founder, Guru Dutt. Post Guru Dutt, GDMPL was managed by his brother(s), son(s) and released three movies which were unable to make any notable mark on audience or box-office. "Pyaasa", a GDMPL release, is listed by Time as among the top 100 movies of all time. "Kaagaz Ke Phool", another of GDMPL release was box-office disaster of its time has followed a world-wide cult following till date. Ironically, the movie runs full house when re-released world over.
