Abertillery and District Hospital

Abertillery and District Hospital is a community hospital in Aberbeeg, near Abertillery with approximately 91 full and part-time staff. It is operated by the Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust. It was founded in 1922.

It has 52 beds in three ward areas. These are:
*Gilbert Strachen Ward has 18 beds and provides respite care and longterm inpatient care. This ward also provides interim care to patients waiting to move to residential or nursing homes.
*John Dunlop Ward has 16 beds that are managed by the local general practitioners and by the nursing staff where no medical intervention is required
*Cwmnant Ward has 18 beds and provides care for the elderly mentally ill
