Personal Life
A true native, Anita was raised in Miami and graduated from Miami Sunset Senior High School in 1988. She then headed to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida.USF is where she was able to fine tune her football skills and dominate the Collegiate Flag Football circuit for 4 years. "Playing flag football in college really created a lot of popularity. I could remember walking around campus and men asking if I would mother their children. Her love for sports kept her on the field, but this time as a sports producer for CBS in Miami.The opportunity to play professional football came about in 1999, when a barn storming tour was created in Minnesota. Avoiding the cold weather, Anita opted to wait until the league brought a team to Miami. Her ambition: to pave the way for women in professional football. Using her athletic ability and marketability to bring more notoriety to the sport.
