Cast

The cast is yet to be officially announced. The fourth season featured sixteen major roles with star billing. One hundred days after the crash, in the fourth season finale, the island seemingly disappears into thin air and the survivors and their acquaintances are scattered across the globe. The survivors' leader Dr. Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox), the fugitive Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly), mentally unstable millionaire Hugo "Hurley" Reyes (Jorge Garcia), future assassin Sayid Jarrah (Naveen Andrews), grieving wife Sun Kwon (Yunjin Kim), baby Aaron, former leader of the island's inhabitants called the "Others" Ben Linus (Michael Emerson) and three-year islander Desmond Hume (Henry Ian Cusick) have left the island. Crash survivor James "Sawyer" Ford (Josh Holloway), former Other Dr. Juliet Burke (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Charlotte Lewis (Rebecca Mader) and Miles Straume (Ken Leung), two members of a science team from a freighter offshore, are at the survivors' beach camp with the majority of the crash survivors. Perrineau has confirmed that his character Michael has been killed and will not be returning. Ausiello has reported on the casting of new characters, but "Lost"'s producers have been known to disguise their new characters during casting with fakes names and occupations. Two characters tentatively referred to as "Caesar" and "Ilanna" or "Ilana" will be introduced in the premiere as guest stars, but may be upgraded to the main cast in their second season. Caesar is in his late thirties or early forties, is "dangerous, physical and extremely intelligent" with a "dark past" and is "as skillful at charming people as he is at killing them." Instead of using flashbacks and flashforwards like in previous seasons, stories of the the fifth season will play out both on and off the island stories in different points in time.
