Westbrook is a passenger rail station along the Shore Line East commuter railroad between Stamford and New London, Connecticut. Westbrook is located along the northern section of the Northeast Corridor, the busiest railway in the United States. Despite being a station on the route, Amtrak services on the north part of the corridor (the "Acela Express" and "Regional") do not stop at the station. However, the Regional does stop at the next station northbound, Old Saybrook. Westbrook station is comprised of a small parking lot and one platform on the southbound side of the tracks. In 2001 when the Acela Express started service, a safety precaution went into effect that limited Shore Line East trains to stop on the southern track.
