Ala Tau

Ala Tau ("Turkic" "Motley Mountain") is a set of distinct mountain ranges of the Tian Shan mountains, these are Dzungar Ala Tau, Ili Ala Tau, Talas Ala Tau. Ala Tau ranges gave a name to one of Kazakhstan breeds of cattle, Ala Tau. Together with Barlyk range and Ketmen range, these mountain ranges extend for 2,400 km along the southern and sout-eastern border of Kazakhstan. The highest mountain in the Kazakhstan Tian Shan is the Khan Tengri peak, 6992 m above the sea level [ [http://www.geogid.ru/referats/geografia/3514.html География Казахстана - География - Рефераты по географии - Ваш гид по странам мира ] ] . The Ala Tau mountains in Kirgizstan are called Kirgiz Ala Tau (41°30N 77°00E).

Ala Tau are a multipurpose breed of cattle, used in Kazakhstan for beef and dairy production.
