Thulukkar

Thulukkar are the Muslim population in south and central Kerala who speak Tamil as their mother tongue. They are supposed to have migrated from Tamil Nadu to various parts of Kerala through the eastern hill centuries ago.

In north Kerala and most other parts where native Muslims are predominant they are called Mappila.

The town Erattupetta in Kottayam district in central Kerala is a town with a Thulukkar Population.
