*April 2, 1956: Whitey Herzog was sent by the New York Yankees to the Washington Senators to complete an earlier deal made on February 8, 1956. The New York Yankees sent a player to be named later, Lou Berberet, Bob Wiesler, Herb Plews, and Dick Tettelbach to the Washington Senators for Mickey McDermott and Bobby Kline.
