Glen Innes is a suburb located in Auckland, New Zealand. It is located nine kilometres to the east of the city centre, close to the waters of the Tamaki River.

The main streets in Glen Innes are Line Road and Apirana Avenue, which meet at a roundabout. Glen Innes has a train station on the Eastern Line of the Auckland Rail Network, and is a hub for Stagecoach buses.

Glen Innes has for the most part been a low-income, working class area with a lot of run down government housing, however in recent years it has experienced some minor economic growth. In particular the "heights" area of Glen Innes is felt by some to becoming one of Auckland's most desirable places to live.

Recently, in a new effort to improve the quality of state housing in Glen Innes, the Government has introduced "Talbot Park" an area of higher density housing, consisting of mostly apartment style places.

History of Glen Innes

The area is named after the farm estate of one of the Taylor Brothers. Three of them had farms in this area and built houses; Charles John Taylor at Glen Orchard (now Saint Heliers), William Innes Taylor at Glen Innes, & Richard James Taylor at Glendowie. Their brother Allen Kerr Taylor lived over in Mount Albert in a house called Alberton. William Innes Taylor's house still stands today on West Tamaki Road.

Glen Innes was previously larger, but when the railway line went through, the area north-west of the line was renamed Saint Johns, after the theological college in the area.
