Cavan Scott is a British writer of science fiction audio plays, best known for his collaborations with Mark Wright.

Biography

Scott and Wright first came to light writing as the writers of the Big Finish Productions "Doctor Who" audio play ', where they created the original villain Nimrod. Since then they have worked together on the Fifth Doctor play "The Church and the Crown" and ', the sequel to "Twilight". In 2007, they edited the short story collection "".

Recently, Scott has been working on solo projects, including a Judge Dredd audio play for Big Finish's 2000 AD line ("For King and Country") plus a Tomorrow People play, "The Warlock's Dance".

The writing duo's first novel, "Project: Valhalla", was published by Big Finish Productions in 2005, featuring Nimrod and other characters from their "Doctor Who" plays. They are currently believed to be working on another sequel to Project: Twilight . The audio is believed to be released in 2008 and will star Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor.

Scott also came up with the initial idea of the Big Finish Audio Play Master, although couldn't write the play due to other work passing it to Joe Lidster.

Recently the duo have worked on a new Tomorrow People audio War of the Slarvians, due out in October 2007. In May 2007 it was announced that Scott and Wright would be taking over as producers of the entire Tomorrow People range as of series seven. In addition to this, they are editing the December short story anthology from Big Finish, 'Doctor Who - The Ghosts of Christmas'. This is the duo third identification with Christmas after writing Christmas Spirit in Bernice Summerfield and the Dead Man Diaries and Be Forgot in Doctor Who - The Christmas Companion.

Scott is a full time editor for BBC Magazines and lives in Bath. His latest project is BBC Countryfile Magazine which is launching in October 2007. In the past he has edited such diverse magazines as T3, Internetworks, Laptop Magazine, BBC Mindgames, Disney Big Time, Disney Girl and Jetix Magazine.
