The right-hander currently plays for the New Orleans Zephyrs of the New York Mets organization.

Kunz attended Parkrose High School, in Portland, Oregon, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was a preseason All-American second-team in by|2007 for the Oregon State Beavers.
