Anne-Marie Sweeney

Anne-Marie Sweeney is a The Weather Network late evening - overnight broadcaster. She often observes how weather affects people's moods. She worked at many radio stations, some in Peterborough, Ontario. She has been offered to become a female rock-radio host, but she decined due to her interest in the weather. She is an honours graduate at Ryerson University's school of journalism. She has received a Michael de Pencier Award of excellence, a Millennium award of excellence, and two Faculty of communications and design awards. She is a former professional figure skater, and enjoys gardening, walking, and swimming. She is also known for wearing short, slit skirts on the air.

In June 2007, her husband John died of cancer and she wrote an article that reflected on his life and their time together in the Globe and Mail, which was published in November 2007.
