Poonsuk Phanomyong ( _th. พูนศุข พนมยงค์,
January 2 1913 [พ.ศ. 2455 ended onMarch 31 ,1913 .] –May 12 2007 ) is the wife of former Thai Prime MinisterPridi Phanomyong . In November 1952 Poonsuk was arrested on charges of subversion under the government ofPlaek Pibulsonggram and was held in custody until February, 1953, and subsequently joined her husband in exile inChina thereafter.Poonsuk returned to
Thailand fromParis in 1986, and died onMay 12 ,2007 .Family
Poonsuk's great-grandmother, Boonma, was the sister of Pin, who happened to be the great-grandmother of her husband Pridi. It was known that the sisters had two other sisters among them. Their parents, Kroen and Kaew, were of indigenous Thai extraction.
