Lumley Lyster

Vice-Admiral Sir (Arthur) Lumley Lyster, KCB, CVO, CBE, DSO was a Royal Navy officer during the Second World War. He was the Fifth Sea Lord that was historically one of the Naval Lords and members of the Board of Admiralty that controlled the Royal Navy. The post has since been abolished during numerous reorganisations. He is notable for drawing up the Battle Plan for The Battle of Taranto and commanding HMS Illustrious. He was also Flag Officer Carrier Training.
