Holy Spirit High School (Tuscaloosa, Alabama)

Holy Spirit High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Birmingham. It is the only Catholic high school in the Tuscaloosa area.

Background

Holy Spirit High School was established (or re-established) in 1995 as an extension of the grade school. There had previously been a Catholic high school in Tuscaloosa, but it closed in 1949. The local parishes have been providing Catholic grade school education since 1863. St. John's High School operated from 1920 to 1949.

The first graduation for Holy Spirit Catholic Regional High School was held in May 1999.
