Low emission vehicle

A low emission vehicle is a vehicle that emits relatively low levels of air pollutants. The term may be used in a general sense, but in some countries it is defined in law; low emission vehicles may be given tax or other advantages, while high emission vehicles may suffer restrictions or additional taxation.

Examples

Examples of automobiles available to consumers in the United States with the CARB LEV-2 ULEV (Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle emissions rating) include the Honda Fit, the Toyota Yaris, and Nissan Versa.
