Linear park

A linear park is a park that is a lot longer than it is wide. It is often formed as a part of a rails to trails conversion of railroad beds to Rail trail recreational use. In some cities it is common to design linear parks that run through residential areas where housing will front streets and back onto small linear parks containing a pathway, trees and grass. This is a common urban design practices in some Canadian cities such as Saskatoon.
