František Cardinal Tomášek (June 30, 1899, Studénka, Moravia - August 4, 1992, Prague, Czechoslovakia) was a significant dignitary of the Roman Catholic Church in Bohemia, was the 34th Archbishop of Prague, a Roman Catholic theologian.

* July 5, 1922 – ordained priest
* 1940–1945 teacher at the diocesan theological training institution in Olomouc
* October 14, 1949 – secretly consecrated bishop
* July 23, 1951 – May 28, 1954 – interned by the Communists in the camp of Želiv
* 1954–1965 – priest in Moravská Huzová
* 1962–1965 – took part in the Second Vatican Council
* 1965 – appointed administrator of the archdiocese of Prague
* 1977 – refused to sign Charter 77
* June 27, 1977 published as cardinal (had been appointed "in pectore" in 1976)
* December 30, 1977 appointed the 34th archbishop of Prague
* 1978 – took part in the conclaves which elected John Paul I and John Paul II, in the Vatican
* 1989 – supported Czechoslovak students and actors in their struggle for democracy (see Velvet Revolution)
