The 1999 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 70th playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League (AL) and National League (NL). Red Sox legend Ted Williams threw the ceremonial first pitch. Three members of the Red Sox played in the game. Pitcher Pedro Martínez and shortstop Nomar Garciaparra were starters, while second baseman Jose Offerman was a reserve. The game was held on July 13, 1999 at Fenway Park. The game resulted in a win for the American League by the final score of 4-1.
