History

Before both were acquired by Shaw, Videon and Greater Winnipeg Cablevision were very notable for their public access programming that aired on VPW (Videon Public-Access Winnipeg, later Videon Cable 11) and VSP (Videon Special Programming), both in the Videon area, and GWC-TV in the Greater Winnipeg Cablevision area. One of its most controversial and most watched programs was "The Pollock & Pollock Gossip Show", an unclassifiable program where “Rockin’ Ronnie” Pollock spinning tunes while his sister, “Nifty Natalie”, would indulge in extremely questionable dancing and other oddball skits. The show aired from 1985 until its abrupt cancellation in 1989.
