The Oregon International Airshow is an annual event held at the Hillsboro Airport in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. The event began in 1988 with annual attendance of 65,000 people. History

The Air Show celebrated its 20th Year in 2007. This outstanding community event is one of the largest events in Washington County and draws an average of 65,000 people to Hillsboro each summer to see some of the best in aviation from all over the United States and Canada. Events are planned “around the family” all weekend long! Over $1,000,000 has been donated back to community projects from the Air Show event. The Oregon International Air Show gladly accepts input from community groups for many different projects and encourages active participation from service clubs, non-profits, businesses and community. Through 2007, dollars have supported over 550 different projects in Washington County and throughout Oregon.

Air Show has a very positive economic impact on Washington County and the City of Hillsboro:

The Air Show supports local businesses, hotels, restaurants, golf courses, and other special events. All performers and Air Show guests are placed in Washington County hotels and visit many of our local restaurants, golf courses and health clubs during their week stay with us. Special activities are planned in our own community.

Hillsboro and Oregon businesses are encouraged to participate at the event and are given a special discount. Air Show does business with local businesses!

In 2002 the Rose Festival and the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce ceased their association with the annual event and organizers formed a non-profit group to continue the show as a 501c-3 organization and was was renamed the Oregon International Airshow.

In 2004 the United States Navy’s aerial demonstration team, the Blue Angels performed at the show. 2006 crash

On Sunday, July 16 2006, a Hawker Hunter jet (N58MX) flown by pilot Robert 'Bob' Guilford, crashed after takeoff. Retrieved on March 5 2008.] After the plane was airborne, Guilford climbed about 1500 feet into the air and made a right turn, he came back around towards the Hillsboro Airport, after his turn and passed by the airport losing altitude and speed quickly. Retrieved on March 5 2008.] Soon after, the Mk.58 Hunter stalled and impacted the ground in a fireball. Four houses were damaged and the pilot died on impact, but no casualties on the ground.Tareen, Sophia, Stuart Tomlinson, Noelle Crombie, Esmeralda Bermudez, Holly Danks and Michelle Roberts. Investigators hope to find why jet crashed into house. "The Oregonian", July 17 2006.] After the crash, the rest of the airshow was canceled. The jet had been on static display at the show, and was not an aerial performer. The pilot had taken off to return to his home in California near the end of the show when the crash occurred.
