Fetters Hot Springs-Agua Caliente is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sonoma County, California, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 2,505.

Agua Caliente originated as a land grant convert|10|mi|km|0 long on the east side of Sonoma Creek. George and Emma Fetters opened the Fetters Hot Springs resort in 1908. [cite web|url=http://users.ap.net/~chenae/socotown.html|title=Towns of Sonoma County|accessdate=2008-01-21] The two communities are generally thought of as separate from one another, though they are adjacent. Fetters Hot Springs is immediately to the north of Boyes Hot Springs, and the three communities are often grouped together as the "Springs" area of Sonoma Valley.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 2,505 people, 885 households, and 584 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 6,546.8 people per square mile (2,545.2/km²). There were 929 housing units at an average density of 2,427.9/sq mi (943.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 82.55% White, 0.96% African American, 1.12% Native American, 1.20% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 8.70% from other races, and 5.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 29.90% of the population.

There were 885 households out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.2% were married couples living together, 14.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.9% were non-families. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.32.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 10.5% from 18 to 24, 31.7% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 7.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.9 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $44,097, and the median income for a family was $48,641. Males had a median income of $37,143 versus $28,304 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $20,269. About 5.5% of families and 8.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.6% of those under age 18 and 6.0% of those age 65 or over.

Politics

In the state legislature Fetters Hot Springs-Agua Caliente is located in the 2nd Senate District, represented by Democrat Pat Wiggins, and in the 6th Assembly District, represented by Democrat Jared Huffman. Federally, Fetters Hot Springs-Agua Caliente is located in California's 6th congressional district.
