Northridge High School is a public high school in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, United States, enrolling 1078 students in grades 9–12. It is one of three high schools in the Tuscaloosa City School District. Northridge High offers technical, academic programs, as well as joint enrollment with Shelton State Community College and the University of Alabama. Northridge High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Founded in 2003, Northridge High School is one of the two oldest public high schools in Tuscaloosa. After the retirement of Central High School East, the Tuscaloosa City School system divided the city into three schools: Northridge High School, Paul W. Bryant High School (both of which were opened in 2003) and Central High School, which remained in the old Central West building until the beginning of the 2007 school year when they moved into a new facility. The school is located on the north side of the Black Warrior River.

In 2007, two hundred seniors received scholarships worth US$7.1 million to universities and colleges. Graduates of the classes of 2008 and 2009 went on to attend Vanderbilt, Princeton University, Rice University, Emory University, UNC, UPenn, Columbia, Wake Forest University, Boston University, and Stanford.

Test Scores

Northridge High School has routinely scored well above the national and state averages since the schools inception in 2003. As are all Alabama public high school students, Northridge High students are assessed using the Alabama High School Graduation Exam. In addition, NHS students are measured on the ACT and SAT college entrance exams, and on Advanced Placement tests.[citation needed]
