Lucien Conein

Lt. Col. Lucien Emile Conein (b. November 29, 1919 in Paris, France; d. June 3, 1998, Bethesda, Maryland, USA) [Barnes, Bart, "Lucien E. Conein Dies at 79: Fabled Agent for OSS and CIA." Washington Post, 6 Jun. 1998, p. B6] was noted U.S. Army officer and OSS/CIA operative. Among other exploits, he was instrumental in the October 1963 coup against Ngo Dinh Diem, having served as the CIA's liaison officer with the coup plotters, and delivering $42,000 of the known cash disbursements.
