Italian passports are burgundy coloured, with the Italian Coat of arms emblazoned in the center of the front cover. The word "Passaporto" meaning,
passport is inscribed below the coat of arms and "Unione Europea" (English: "European Union"), "Repubblica Italiana" (English: "Italian Republic") above.
