Johann Lamont (born 11 July 1957, Glasgow) is a Scottish Labour Co-operative politician and member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow Pollok since 1999.

She first became active in Glasgow University Labour Club, and in 1977 took part in the unsuccessful campaign to elect Hortensia Allende (widow of the former Marxist President of Chile,Salvador Allende) as Rector of Glasgow University. She spent a year at Jordanhill Teacher Training College, during which time she became a member of the National Committee of the National Organisation of Labour Students.

She worked as a teacher for a number of years, and in 1999 was elected to the Scottish Parliament for the Glasgow Pollok constituency. In 2003 she successfully defended the seat in the face of a tough challenge from the then Scottish Socialist Party convenor Tommy Sheridan, and was re-elected in 2007.

She became Deputy Minister for Communities in the Scottish Executive in October 2004, and moved to become Deputy Justice Minister in November 2006 until the dissolution of Parliament in anticipation of the 2007 election.

In September 2008 she was elected Deputy Leader of Labour in the Scottish Parliament.
