The Common Sand Frog (Tomopterna cryptotis) is a species of frog in the Ranidae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, possibly Benin, possibly Burkina Faso, possibly Central African Republic, possibly Chad, and possibly Guinea. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, intermittent freshwater marshes, and freshwater springs.
