"Hold It Now, Hit It" is a song by the New York hip hop group Beastie Boys. It was a single released off of their first album "Licensed to Ill". It is also remixed on the "New York State of Mind" album. The song was ranked 27 on VH1's 100 Greatest Hip Hop songs. The show claimed the song gave the Beastie Boys credibility among hip hop artists after the commercial success of "Fight for Your Right".
