Six-state solution

Six-state solution

The six-state solution is a proposed solution of the Israel-Palestine conflictthat concerns the creation of a Middle Eastern community between Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, a Palestinian state and Syria. This proposal goes beyond the one-state and two-state solutions which do not encapsulate the conflict between Israel and Palestine within a broader context.

The solution is modeled after the creation of the European Union, which originated in bilateral dialogue between France and Germany turning Franco-German enmity into Franco-German cooperation. Apart from this Franco-German axis more countries were concerned and involved: it led to cooperation between France and Germany, the neighbouring Benelux countries Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and Italy.

The proposal has been advocated by professor Johan Galtung [http://www.bigpicture.tv/videos/watch/140f6969d] .
