Chinese Mole Shrew range

The Chinese Mole Shrew (Anourosorex squamipes) is a species of mammal in the Soricidae family. It is found in Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In 2006, the Center for Disease Control reported that this species can carry a version of the hantavirus which is genetically distinct from rodent hantavirus and new to science. [2]
