Retirement Living is an American television channel devoted to programming that is geared toward older residents of the United States.

RLTV airs on Verizon FiOS TV Channel 216 on a 24/7 basis. RLTV programming is also on DirecTV channel 223 and Comcast CN8 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.Eastern time, and is also available on some cable systems.

Programs airing on this network include lifestyle shows, political shows, health and fitness programs, and a financial program.

One of the show's hosts is John Palmer, former news reader on "The Today Show". Another is Lea Thompson, former chief consumer correspondent for "Dateline NBC". Florence Henderson, best known for her role as one of America's favorite moms on The Brady Bunch is also a host of an entertainment show; her co-host is Meshach Taylor, best known for his long-running role on the CBS sitcom "Designing Women".

History

Retirement Living was started by entrepreneur John C. Erickson, founder and chief executive officer of Erickson Retirement Communities and founder of [http://www.umbc.edu/erickson/ The Erickson School] of Aging at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Erickson is also building a new office building with integrated studio space near the UMBC campus. Right now, the network has temporary studios and offices in Columbia, Maryland, Los Angeles, California and at the ABC's studio in Washington, D.C..

RLTV sponsored the car driven by 72-year-old James Hylton in his attempt to qualify for the 2007 Daytona 500. [http://www.jayski.com/schemes/2007/58cup.htm] Hylton was attempting to be the oldest driver in the race's history, but he failed to qualify.

Canada

On April 16, 2007, RLTV signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Canadian media company S-VOX. Under the terms of the deal, content from RLTV will air on and VisionTV.
