Valu - the bull

Valu is a Marathi movie which got released in January 2008 and was featured in Berlin film festival.Also became first Marathi feature Film to get selected in Rotterdam International Film Festival 2008, Holland.

Storyline

In the small village of 'Kusavde'. Valu the wild bull is at loose and is blamed for every single act of chaos and destruction that that happens in and around the village. Now catching the bull becomes equivalent to establishing power in the village for the leaders and for those who are interested in the fringe benefits.

A forest officer is called from the city to catch the bull. And what we go through is a roller-coaster ride, with the war between the two leaders; love stories that bloom in the midst of the adventure; an amateur filmmaker who struggles to shoot a documentary; the forest officer who leads this chaos like a sacred mission' along with the religious priest' the tricksters and a mad women who seems to understand the mind of the Valu!

The film is a complex yet amusingly hilarious allegory. where the Valu represents the free will. The film touches you with is simple 'slice of life' treatment full of sensitivity and insight.
